First-Time Setup
After activation, the plugin runs with sensible defaults. Here is what to check first:
1. Module Toggles
Go to Settings and review which modules are active. Recommended starting configuration:
| Module | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| AI Crawler Allowlist | Enable — lets AI search engines crawl your content |
| Schema Engine | Enable — outputs JSON-LD markup automatically |
| llms.txt | Enable — creates a machine-readable context file |
| Content Gap Scanner | Enable — finds missing AEO signals |
| Basic Meta Tags | Disable if you use Yoast, Rank Math, or any SEO plugin |
| Robots.txt Manager | Disable if Yoast or Rank Math manages your robots.txt |
2. Dashboard Health Score
Visit the Dashboard to see your overall AEO Health Score. This score reflects how well your site is configured for AI search engines based on active modules, schema coverage, and crawler accessibility.
3. Schema Preview
Go to Schema Engine and use the preview tool to check what JSON-LD markup is being generated for your pages. Search for any page by title and inspect the output.
